About Velosity

Background

For more than three decades, our team has designed and delivered aeromedical programs for flight medical crews and travellers globally. These programs have been delivered on line, in classroom settings and at seminars. In 1991, with the increase in frequency of air ambulance and airline travel for the ill and injured persons, it became clear that specialized training is needed for nurses, respiratory therapists, physicians, paramedics, and allied support staff in this unique and unpredictable environment. Velosity offers the clinicians of tomorrow access to years of knowledge and experience in this highly specialized field.

Our Experience

Our flight nurse educators not only provide ongoing education and training for medical flight crews, but, have provided preceptorship of third year nursing students for both Ryerson College, Toronto and Fleming College Peterborough during their clinical placement at Angels of Flight Canada. Our team has also facilitated workshops and conferences in Canada and beyond including an In-Flight Safety Conference north of Toronto attended by professionals and guest speakers from healthcare, aviation, security professionals and governments agencies from as far away as Australia.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are not just medical professionals, but experienced worldwide fliers who are prepared to intervene in any onboard crisis involving the aircraft, the patient or traveler. With extensive knowledge and experience in aeromedicine, aviation safety, survival techniques, critical care and trauma, they share their knowledge to ensure the field of aeromedical care and the aircraft itself no longer represents a mysterious and fearful process for the nurse or for the patient.
